National and statewide circulation of respiratory viruses other than influenza and SARS-CoV-2
(the virus that causes COVID-19) are above normal transmission levels, particularly human
parainfluenza virus 3 (HPIV-3) and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV). During the recent summer
months in Colorado, there has been an increase in reported croup outbreaks, HPIV-3 test
positivity, and hospitalized RSV cases.
